Aquatic Central was founded in the Summer of 2003 by Dan and Sara Leung, a lovely couple from the East Bay. With many long hours and hard work, they replanted the South West side of San Francisco with a quality tropical aquarium. Competing against the likes of Nippon, formerly the premier aquarium of San Francisco, they employed their friendly and warm attitude to keep them afloat. Over the course of three years they built a reputation for knowledge, quality, and sound advice. As they prepared for a new chapter in their life, and the arrival of their daughter Christy, Aquatic Central was on the verge of a massive transformation. In August of 2006, this small and quaint aquarium started taking on a new shape. Inventory was added, product lines expanded, live stock quadrupled, and square footage doubled. With equally as many long and hard hours, the new owner utilized his many years as a hobbyist to create a store which caters to the many needs of other hobbyists. His aim was to amend the difficulties aquarists alike face in the ever demanding, yet enjoyable, pastime of aquaculture. The result, an aquarium by aquarists, for aquarists.
